We believe in understanding the individual, how to help them learn and retain that learning in a way that engages them, and celebrating their uniqueness. By placing fun and creativity at our core, we explore students' own interests as well as inspire new ones, creating memorable, exciting music lessons.

Projects & Workshops

  • At Music Workshop, we’re passionate about helping young and emerging musicians on their journey into the world of live performance. That’s why we’ve launched Road to Stage for the New Generation — an exciting new project to help up-and-coming artists the tools, space, and stage time they need to grow.

Whether you're a solo artist or in a band we’re here to support your journey. We offer free weekend rehearsal spaces, mentoring from professional musicians, and regular live performance opportunities.

Each month, selected artists will perform at the Music Workshop Coffeehouse, a vibrant venue that fosters live music culture. Selected artists will also get the chance to perform at some of the UK’s top festivals and events, including Car Fest, bp pulse LIVE @ THE NEC ARENA, and Party in the City.

Register your interest and we look forward to welcoming you to our community, and continuing to transform lives through music.

  • At Music Workshop, we believe in creating unforgettable learning experiences by bringing the music industry to our students. Over the years, we have been lucky to welcome some incredible guest artists and educators, such as world-renowned drum educator Mike Johnston, known globally for his inspiring online lessons and innovative teaching approach, and Eddy Thrower, powerhouse drummer for Busted, Dua Lipa and many others. These professionals have become friends of Music Workshop, delivering exciting, hands-on masterclasses that energise and empower.

Our sessions go beyond performance. They are about real-world insight. From career pathway workshops to industry Q and As, we give our students the chance to learn the secrets of the business, meet inspiring role models and explore the many career options that exist in music, on stage, behind the scenes and everywhere in between.

Performances & Events

Performance is at the heart of everything we do, and the confidence and ambition it instills in young performers cannot be replicated.

Music performance is all about creating and sharing moments; connecting with others, expressing yourself, and feeling that rush of achievement. Whether it’s on stage or in a small group, it brings people together in a way that few other things can.

We curate a spectrum of live performances, from prestigious venues like Abbey Road Studios and major festivals, to cute and cosy Christmas shindigs. This Includes Muw Fest, a three-day performance that incorporates over 150 musicians of all ages, local dance groups,  independent food vendors, dozens of volunteers, and an immeasurable serving of local sentiment and enthusiasm.

  • Our cosy and warm, monthly Open Mic takes place on the last Thursday of the month, showcasing local artists, as well as supporting the fledgling steps of our students on this journey we call music.

Our Open Mic also forms part of our Road2Stage project.

To take part, simply email; evie@musicworkshop.org.uk

  • Our cosy Christmas performance has been a staple of the Music Workshop calendar almost as long as we’ve been doing shows. Our coffeehouse hosts this charming opportunity for our younger and beginner students to share their fledgling musical flare. With mince pies and mulled wine, it’s mind-meltingly cute, and the perfect way to Sign off for Christmas.

  • A three-day extravaganza of music, food and community.

Every year we host three large-scale student performances. Each one featuring hundreds of our student musicians. These events bring every corner of our community together from cultural partners to legions of volunteers. All working to bring the joy of music to life.  For us, this is what Muw is all about.

  • As part of our charity sponsorship with BP Pulse, every year we visit Carfest, the UK’s biggest family fundraising festival. Created to raise funds for UK Children’s Charities. We’re lucky enough to take a select number of students with us, who get to perform live on stage at the festival!

We’ve even hosted our own ‘Instrument Petting Zoo’!
